Anyone know why/who the south entrance (to the big rock) was barricaded by branches?  This happened within the last few weeks.  Now this limits the choices for anglers to get to the beach this summer (for pinks)  :(
I suspect it's the Golf course managers. They would have to barricade it all the way to Porteau Cove if they want to stop anglers during Pink Season.  So now anglers need to bring machetes to cross the south entrance to the beach.

I'm surprised the golf course managers haven't made it more difficult for people to fish off the rocks on that "hole"

Standing there for 5 minutes watching guys tee off was enough for me to move to the beach.

has anyone been hit with a ball while fishing there? or seen it.

Neighbors dad got hit right in the back of the head sitting next to the rocks. Also seen a ball land a foot away from some kids wading in the water, they quickly ran off down the beach.

I sure hope it wasn't the golf managers, because some fishermen may be cut through picturesque hole #14.

It's already been cut and patched several times.  It will continue to happen.  Not all people going to that beach are necessarily there to fish.

Once I had a golf ball come so close to my head that it touched the hair on my ear.  Lucky me, that would have hurt...

Hope no one decides to look for popcans behind the targets at a shooting range.

I was thinking of heading to there tomorrow for some fishing. I have never been there.

Any advice or tips ?

I was just thinking of shore fishing and if allowed some crabbing.

I am looking into the regs atm, but i have a hard time getting it all to sink in since my concussion at work. bleh.

I don't know about crabbing but it's too early for shore fishing there. Still a few weeks away from my experience fishing there. Usually when they open for pinks it's 4 per day but you need to pay attention to the regs because it may change at any time.

I am not just into salmon, just enjoy catching a fish.

I am in North Burnaby and I find fish catching is limited to offshore.

No docks and not really any drop offs for crabbing from shore.
Though Porteau Cove looks appealing and is!
IT'S closed to  fishing!

As for limits, check the regs and updates.
It could be 2 or 4 or 0.
The internet has just as many wrong answers and YOU ultimately are the one who has to OWN your choices.  ;)
Good luck no matter what you do but I think you could find a better place to fish though it's a nice walk but often a stinky beach.

Yeah I hear that.

The last few morning I have been at the mouth of the cap. No real luck there yet.

I see the fish in the water. Just not hitting my treats.
