New Cabinet
« on: June 16, 2005, 06:37:00 PM »

As already noted on another thread by Chris Gadsden, there is a new cabinet appointment that should interest us all because two things are very significant.

1. The Environment Ministry is new...at least to the BC Liberals. There is an admission here that the environment is important and is deserving of its own Ministry.
2. The new Minister, Barry Penner is a hardworking individual who understands and supports a healthy environment.

Mr. Penner will have an interesting time with some of his colleagues in government who have been "less than green" in their attitude toward and treatment of environmental issues.

I am very pleased with this and expect big and good things from Barry.

Let's not waste this opportunity to get some major issues addressed and perhaps dealt with.

Penner is the right man for the job. I met him at a Hyde Creek Salmon Fest. Also nice to see the enviro ministry back and a demotion for Two Fish VanDongen.

Over here in the UK we had a really good sports minister [took in Angling], Kate Hooey, sadly she was to good for her own good and was soon moved out by Mr. Blaaaaaaaaaiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiir.

Let's hope your new man lasts the course.
