Title: NFR - Fog
Post by: DragonSpeed on January 20, 2009, 03:34:19 PM
Sometimes Fog can be a good thing....

I got up at 0545 to make the trek out to the viewpoint for the shots. I didn't know if I'd be disappointed....
Definitely NOT disappointed!

If I am waking up at 0545, there would only be three things on my mind.

Definitely not driving 30 minutes to take photographs! ;D

Nice shots. Is the first one from Cypress or Grouse?

All shots taken from the first lookout on the way up to Cypress.

I'd like to be taking pictures of me catching fish... THAT would be worth it :)

You put quotation marks around the url, so the program added an extra http:// at the front. ;)

You should show the others your eagle photos from last weekend. ;)

Damn.  My usual photo oriented site that I copied from uses quotes... Will have to post here first and there second in the future.

It's really interesting how the fog sits in pockets, even over flat surfaces like water.  Shows the differing densities and moisture content of the air.

It's a steelhead derby, not a sockeye derby. ;D

I should have taken a couple of photos above GVRD (oops, Metro Vancouver!) during the flight just prior to landing two days ago. It was totally clear east of Surrey, while Richmond and Vancouver were just covered with white fluffy fog.

But if there's a nice wide river crossing, I could bring the truck  ::)

Honestly... I've only been stillwater for trout the last year or so now.... Fishing time just doesn't seem as available as I'd like it.  I know that I'm already booked for the 15th with my Scouts.... Going tubing.  Never a dull moment ;)

It's going to be on the 1800 news tonight!! :D :D :D

Unfortunately, I have a meeting :(

Could someone DVR it/get some sort of clip of it being displayed?

Chris?  Have you got connections?  Could you get me a digi copy of the segment from Global?  I could drop by their office and pick it up.. I only live 2-3km from them.

Maybe Rodney can capture it and post the segment for us here. I will try to get it on tape if it does not come on the same time as the Maple Leaf game I am watching. ;D ;D ;D

No, I haven't seen any.  I've been busy EVERY night this week :(

I have had two emails asking for copies of the photo.  One to print.. We agreed upon the print cost + $25 donation to my Scout Group :)

Looking back at this - I guess my people had me booked for another celebrity engagement ;)  We'll have to thread together another time.  See if you can get your people to contact my people about a possible date - perhaps some time in 2010 :D

We had a good run of fog back in January and it caused a great stir around the Internets...  Our fog came back but not quite as dramatically this time.

Here's one from after the sunrise:

Another one from BEFORE the sunrise..

There are more...but it's the Christmas holidays and there is so much to do!!
