Yes, the steelies are from this year ;D. Good eye on the recognizing that they are not Vedder fish. They are from the Charlottes. But I will be back in Feb 2011 to hopefully get into a Vedder steel.

Great photos everyone, but from what i can see all these steelies look to be summer runs,i get the feeling that "chromers" intention was more to see some fresh winter run steel.

I might be wrong, but i love the ones posted so far anyways lol, keep em up ;D

Searay85's fish is most definitely a winter run.  Snapperhead's second fish might be as well.

2nd time out to the chedder got a little buck. First time out last week hooked one that cleared the water 3' and spat the hook. River was in really nice shape, lots of people out fishing saw a few fish around. I guess everryone is on their Christamas break. Well here's my first, the rest ( fingers crossed )will be posted on fish porn. Tight lines.

if you look closely...the hook curves into the upper lip...i think a piece of the skein is covering the curve and giving it an optical illusion... i think it's a good hookup.

I wasnt implying it wasnt a good hookup  ::) I have seen flies hooked into the outside tip of the nose on trout, salmon and steelhead. Its going to happen gear fishing as well of course.

I've been out 4 times, landed fish on each of my first three trips.

That fish that was hooked in the nose hammered a giant prawn tail, which either got eaten or fell off the hook during the battle.

Managed to land my first steelhead on Boxing Day in the Chilliwack/Vedder River Derby.  A lovely silver that weighed in at 11.9 lbs.  Will post a picture as soon as I can figure out how to do so...computer challenged.
