Title: looking for fishing partner
Post by: lapetitebuse on May 06, 2006, 07:24:32 PM
Hey I am looking for somebody to fish with.
I don't own a car and I've never fished in BC so it's hard for me to go.
I like being in the nature, I am very respectfull and I don't mind walking hours before reaching a spot.
Interested in both saltwater and freshwater fishing, I use to fish a lot when I was younger and I want to resume this passion.
I don't have any equipment but I am willing to buy some when I find the right partner(s).

This could be as well a good occasion to socialize and find some friends with the same interests as me : nature and sport

I am 25 years old and live in kitsilano.

Welcome to the forum, lapetitebuse.
You might try going down to the water with minimal equipment and giving it a try.  You are going to have to buy a license and some tackle.  That will get you started.  Talk to people along the way.  Get information about what, where, and when.  Let people know you would like company.  Do a river cleanup (look through some of the messages on this board for when and where).  You will meet some people.  I'm on Salt Spring Island for the next three weeks.  If you want to come over here I'll show you where and on what they bite for me.

(people 25 who talk about when they were "younger" . . . . oh, well . . . )

The Capilano/Seymour/Lower Fraser river and rice lake can all be accessed by bus/skytrain.

I agree that would be fun and when others give you the look. You can smile and say "I bet you wish you caught them don't you, I know you are jealous."

I know someone who's had his driving licence suspended. He commutes to his fishing hole on the Capilano by bus. He tells me that he never have any problem getting a seat because nobody wants to sit next to him. He hasn't washed his vest in several years. He's got fish slime and roe stains all over his vest.  ;D
