Prime Minister of Alberta Steven Harper, is basically rigging the whole assessment process.  Why even bother going through the process if you can't reject it?

but instead must make a recommendation to the government, including whatever steps need to be taken to mitigate harmful impacts.

it looks like the government of the n.w.t. wants the pipeline up there so let them have it.

Where are they going to have the tankers come from? The arctic? It's going to have to go west through the Yukon and bc or Alaska.

--BC has same laws for forestry and other resource users... basically if you can get a registered professional to sign off the plan their boss wants there is no way for the government official to reject it. Exception... once something goes wrong in many cases the first person they go after is the government official who approved the lame permit.
