Title: Hunting season, source for Fly tying materials
Post by: 4ptbuck on September 02, 2005, 05:47:00 PM
Well hunting season is upon us.  I have tied many flies in the past, and have all the 'natural' material that I need.
Every season that I am successful in taking a deer, I think of all the Tom Thumbs that I've just left in the bush.  This goes along with all the Mallard flank, bucktailss and grouse as well.

So this year I am asking, does anybody want anything?
I am hoping for a few deer, and maybe a bear.  I will have a bunch of ducks and snow geese.
Anybody want a squirrel tail? l

I honestly don't know if I am Legally allowed to sell this, but I KNOW I can give it away.
I am thinking about a piece of deer hide about 10" square, a buck (it may be a doe) tail, or a ziplock full of mallard flank.

If I were to get say a dozen flies in the mail, heh I wouldn't complain.   ;D

Let me know if anybody's interested, as the deer hide will have to be taken out of the bush and cured (ie dried) to perserve it.  This alone will cost me a few buck in rock salt.

I am in the lower mainland, but these are easy enough to stuff in an envelope.

Not sure if I should post this in the main forum, as it seems to be focused on salmon right now, and this is pretty fly fishing specific.
