A Little Peevish??? Who Me!
« on: February 19, 2005, 09:32:42 AM »

Seeing as how it's a little quiet around here I thought I would ask what everybodies pet peeves are about fishing. Myself, they go as follows:

1. Being downwind of somebody who smokes, uggh. :P

2. People leaving garbage where they've fished. :(

3. Snaggers intentionally reefing on their rods every cast and saying "Wow, that was close"! ::)

Those are my top three that I can think of, what about you.  ;D >:( ;D

1) Not catching fish ;)

2) When working down a run - someone that purposely leapfrogs you :(

3) Seeing fish not caught in the mouth, regularly by the same "fisherman"

Upstream fishermen drifting down to where you're fishing and then letting their line sit there. >:(

Mine would be taking a fishing vest back to my car, only to realize it wasnt mine, and then running it back up the Bar to switch it with my vest without anyone knowing. It was the exact same as mine! If i didnt notice the fish blood on the vest I would have brought it home and probably never seen mine again. :-[

My biggest peeve is when you have a fisherperson (who thinks he is above and beyond everyone else on the river) giving the gears to someone that isn't so experienced.  I figure even a pro had to start somewhere.  Give them a break.

Definately the rippers are #1 on my list!

Let's not get into #2...  ;D  ;D  ;D

For a positive, my favorites is seeing someone new getting their first fish, the bright flash and strong tug of a fish just after the strike, and the toronto maple leafs.  ;D

1)) people that don't put in a full effort at work

2)  Rippers on the river

3) Drivers who can't accept that someone driving 20 Kmh over the speed limit in the fast lane is not driving too slow.

1.  Forgetting to bring something thats needed for a fishing trip, such as sunglasses and pencil lead.  One time I forgot to bring extra pencil lead while coho fishing and I sheepishly asked the angler next to me for some lead in exchange for some of my lures.  I was pretty embarassed that I forgot the lead but he was generous enough to just give me the lead and didn't want anything in return.

2.  Bringing a camera while fishing and not catching any fish, and not bringing a camera and catching fish.

3.  Breaking fishing rods in car doors (or windows or seats)  :(.  I've busted a rod once while closing my car door.  My boss broke another of my rods while he raised the power windows in his truck.  And another time, I moved my car seat back to give me more leg room and somehow my rod tip got caught and busted.

1. People that only think of themselves.
2. That damn list of chores my wife has.
3. People practicing their batting on the river. (reefers)
4. People who think native rights means no responsibility.
5. People that can perform the double haul without displacing a hair on their head.
6. Boaters/Drivers that think they own the water/road.
7. People that post "what peeves you" so I have to think about all the stuff that peeves me ;D

How about a "what doesn't peeve you" post? Here's what I think...
1.
2.
3.
4.
etc. (notice they're all blank) ;)
