This is a late one, had to wait until I finish the video to post it. Back in late April a few of us went over to Ucluelet. We were only targeting halibut, with
Big Bear Salmon Charters, and one of our goals was to catch a couple of small ones and transfer them to the Ucluelet Aquarium. We fished two days. The first day was a bit challenging, it took all day to get our limit of four fish for four anglers. The second day was quite a contrast. We managed to hook over ten in the first two hours, so were able to get our quotas as well as fulfilling the aquarium's request. The others also went out for salmon fishing for the second part of the second day, and managed to get into a few nice red chinook salmon without going too far from shore. Next year, if you are considering doing a trip over there, you may want to try doing it early in the season. When we were there, there were no other boats around.
