Vedder Steelhead - Dec 19th
« on: December 19, 2007, 09:08:31 PM »

There are no steelhead in the Vedder.   ;D  Except for the one chrome buck taken in the upper river today by my friend.  A BEAUTIFUL wild one that we gently released after a surprisingly easy fight...60 pound main and 40 pound leader surely helped (kidding)...

Hit the river in several different spots and only caught the one, no other bites to be had (stops from top to bottom to check things out).  The river above the clay banks is in GREAT shape.  Below, visibility was around a foot and a nice translucent green colour.  Snow line is half way up the surrounding mountains.  The sun even came out for a few hours in the morning...glorious...

Lure du jour was gooey bobs and wool and even tried a worm both to no avail....the one caught was on a small spin and glow and the take was very apparent....    ;D

Maybe you should spend more time fishing and less time with the limpy in your hand. ;D ;D I thought it was just us old guys who spent more time peeing than fishing. ;D ;D

just got in the door from a few hours adventure this mornin (dec 21)  on the chilliwack. Fished first light till 11:00, mid river. landed 2 nice fat dollies/bulls on roe...... At 10:45 I set the hook after a very lazy float down.... and what i thought was bottom turned out to be a very scrappy 6/7 lbs hatchery buck..... 1st one on the tag for this season  ;D and on a jumbo prawn to boot.

sorry no porn
I've decided not to post fishing pics anymore...... reports.... well, okay.
not sure if ya all remember the fit i threw last year after being followed around on the river by a few younger lads from this site, after posting a report. I like this site and have respect for many guys here who have asked me to continue posting my reports..... So...... unless it is a spectacular fish that deserves to be posted up..... I'm not posting pics anymore... I'm sure there will be lots of porn from others..... and we all know what a steelhead looks like.
good luck this season boys....... and nicole  ;D

Good catch Thomas. Too bad a few bad apples have to spoil the enjoyment for others.
