After the sun (even the weak winter sun) falls on the frost, the crystals transform.

Oh wow, I never thought to look at frost like this. They are all so unique, like snowflakes caught in time. Wish I had a better camera.
Even an inexpensive camera can sometime capture these kinds of shots. Just that you might need to fake the camera out to get the exposure you want.
It's always interesting the things that are right in front of us that we don't see :)
