Title: Upper Fraser for Chum
Post by: Bradbeer on November 01, 2006, 05:02:57 PM
Has anyone BB’d the upper Fraser for Chum? I see the test fishery showing lots and lots of chum, and I am just wondering if it would be worth while to take the boat out and catch and release some chummers. It would beat the Stave, don’t you think?

You will catch more fish if you use a float and a jig or bait than you would bottom bouncing, so why bottom bounce, the Fraser is clean right now, take advantage and get the fish to bite, way more fun...

Careful roe man, last I heard (and I could be outta date) the fraser had a bait ban...don't know if its in effect still?

No need to bottom bounce! Stave is great right now. Landed a 3-4 clean chums on sunday. Short floating shrimp!

Thanks for all the advice guys, I guess if the water is clear, short floating or bar rigging could be a possibility. Here is the sport fishing notice for the upper Fraser. It seems you can use bait. CYA on the river.    ;D

BBING SUCKS and DFO still asks for selective methods bud....so that means I can still call you up  :-*

for chum on the frasermost of the time I use a float, pencill lead, and than a 3-4ft leader (12lb) and than my big jig, in purple and pink....

If you want to catch and release chums I would head to the Vedder. They're thick in there and you don't need a boat.
