Well, there was water in it, and there were some tree nearby.

Yes there was both water and trees nearby but tell me something about the rod. What colour?

Sorry, I thought you wanted a description of the lake! :)

I am colour blind, and forgetful, so it's hard to describe the colour of the rod precisely. If I recall correctly, it was a dark colour, like black, brown, blue or green, and either a lighter or darker shade of one of those colours.

We could make this into a game of Clue!  My guess is green rod, Shimano reel, and the lake starts with an 'H'. ;D
