Title: A pleasant visit to the bird sanctuary

Yesterday we sneaked out for a couple of hours to the bird sanctuary in Delta. If you have not done so before, I highly recommend it. We usually go a few times a year, to feed the birds in the winter, see the snow geese in late fall. It was a bit cold yesterday, but very fresh, and hardly anyone around, so rather peaceful. What baits did you use? where did you catch them at? Whats the limit on them?

Bait: Various species of seeds.
Where? In the beaks. ;)
Catch and release only. :)

Probably not wise to eat those, it would be like smoking a couple of farmed salmon. ;)

Maybe Steelhead King should head in there for some target practice since he just got his firearm license last week..... ;D Watch out, Ladner is not that safe anymore! ;)

I worked there in the late sixties and early seventies .Duck was on the dinner menu many a night.

On the topic of Birds, I have 3 unknown birds in my bird photo collection from some pics I took out by UBC yesterday...

:D  Well, it wasn't the Pentax WR43 :(  It was, of course the Canon Digital Rebel, using a 300mm telephoto, F5.6, built-in flash, and 1/60" shutter speed (damn it's handy having EXIF data :D)

Of course, with the digital "conversion", the net magnification ends up around 480mm. (1.6x)
