Trying to get into a new thing, bar fishing, need equipment any suggestions?

Hey guys i've been float fishing and bottom bouncing rivers for a while and want to get into somethin new! Any sudgestions on a bar rod, reel i'm thinking abu 7000, any other reels i should look at?  I have the spinglows, and wire rigs set up! What ounce weights do i need, for the hope area, and are there other area's that are good places.
