Vedder, March 25
« on: March 25, 2005, 04:30:22 PM »

Rob and I hit the vedder today, not a bad day over all (despite loosing a drennan  :'(  ).  I hooked 2 steelhead, beached 1 wild, lost the other in a mad run. And rob beached one wild and turned another.  That makes it 5 trips to the vedder for me with 2 hooked and 1 beached.

All 3 fish hooked were in the upper river.  The river is relatively low and clear but we found lots of good water to fish.  Those we only saw on other fish hooked all day.  Drove over KWB in the AM and it was a gong show.

Traffic on the river was heavy but thats expect for a stat.  One thing that did surprise me is that we saw a zodiak being rowed down the river on what looked like a guided trip?!?!  I didnt think the vedder was larger enuff for that type of thing not to mention all the bank fishermen who must have been thrilled to pieces to see that gang coming!

I have sent a pic to rod for posting so stay tuned.

Good going Gooey, that's a very nice looking steeley and as Rod said, nice promo for Shimano. Fure sounds like you two had as good a day as one can expect on the flow what with hooking into that many fish and good weather to boot. Thanks for the report as I'm thinking of heading out tomorrow
or the next day if all goes well. ::)

Nice looking fish, I guess we won't have to ask what it was caught on.  8)

yes, you can see the gree spin n glo in its mouth, what you can't see is the roe too.  I had on double red chum roe.  One solitary egg clung to the skeine.  as I looked at it I thought i'll put a bug on but then I decided one more cast...good call!
