Does anyone know anything about Murrin lake?
« on: May 10, 2005, 07:03:41 AM »

I keep passing this little lake called Murrin on the sea to sky when I go up there. I see people fishing, but I don't know if they are catching anything. Is it stocked?

Fish Wizard reports that Browning Lake (in Murrin Provincial Park - who'd a thunk it?) was stocked with 1400 catchable rainbows (of Fraser Valley 3N stock) on April 25th.

It's a great place for a swim in summer.
As to fishing it's strictly put 'n take.

I've heard the fishing is okay (kinda like fishing lafarge), but when the swimming picks up the fishing slows down.

If you're really (un)lucky, you might even hook a couple of 200lbers. :)

With 1400 catchables released around two weeks ago, the fishing should be pretty good. It's a good shore-access lake for families. :)

That's what I was thinking too.  Those fish must be tripping over themselves in a lake that small ;)
