Good tricks. I took the stealhead course from sts guides (guy with a huge mustach) a few years ago. It was pretty good, but I think they should offer one for people who know how to tie knots and cast
They showed us how to make up nice wool ties and rubber worm rigs, and differnt blades for different weather conditions (that was actually a very good tip), and a few tricks about how to set up your weight so you can ditch the weight if you get snagged ect...
and then on the river we did hit some pretty nice runs. Lots of emphasis on fishing correctly and looking for water that would hold fish. So I would reccomend it if you are pretty new to fishing, or are unsure about where to fish on a given run then go take the course. otherwise it would be good just to go out and fish.
Since I took that course, I have improved my outing to fish hooked ratio. but I never had the same kind of luck as the first time when I was 8 and outfished all the old pros (they probably put me onto fish thought)
