In a word... yes.
A quick google search will send you to a few  but honestly,  just go to the river and look for the crowds.
Peg leg, laidlaw, island 22, cattermole, ferry island, jones, herling, scale... theres lots more.

Have been bar fishing the lower with no success as of yet but noticed more socks jumping last week than this week. Ki d of odd because the clarity has only been getting better althought the temperature has been getting warmer too..

I was out Saturday and it's the same story.  No hint of any fish.  Lots of local it seems just drove down to the river and watch for surface activities without even wetting their line.  I over heard them say there was one good day since the opening but the rest of the time there is huge stretches of nothing.

Family was out yesterday and couldn't catch anything either.  Seems the nets have been hitting them hard for a couple days.  My dad was out earlier in the week though and was doing very well.  No nets anymore except at the mouth so by tomorrow it should be better again.

There was huge netting efforts yesterday as I drove over the Fraser a few times.

Yes, they all supposedly stopped at 11 last night except for the mouth.

This up-coming limited commercial opening won't help things either.  I was at the Steveston docks yesterday.  1 boat was selling pinks for 5$ per fish.  Another boat was selling sockeye from Barkley Sound for $7 per lb.

Anywhere away from the crowds via boat to check out?  PM-me?

My Dad is bringing some little cousins out to try their hand.  I would like to send to a place less combat-ish.

Cheers.

Was out at Peg Leg last night from 6-9. Looked like everyone was catching their limit pretty quickly but me  :(. I forgot to stock up on weights before I went out and everyone was using 6oz, and I only had a couple 1.5oz's in my tackle.

"I only had a couple 1.5oz's in my tackle"

Use em both, and add a full stick of pencil lead in the middle!!  :) :)

6 oz bouncing betties ? Do they make them that big ?

biggest Ive seen is 3.5 maybe 4 ounce black ones. they seem to be the ones everyone is using. 6 ounce would be like a bowling ball...

I have a couple 5oz betties but they never see the water. There is no way anyone was using 6oz at Pegleg. Fished there Friday evening and Saturday morning and a 4oz was even too heavy and just dragged bottom and would get hung up or find the snags too often. 3oz was perfect  :)

feel bad for the gongshow because its going to get worse after i post this.

They are slamming sockeyes at peg. I see familys of 5 take home 10 fish. People limit out in 10-20minutes. Keep in mind that there are a few dead spots here and there when an opening happens. A lot of springs are hooked but few are landed. There is a bad snag they get hooked on in the lower part of the bar. Saw a few nice ones 20+lb landed though so its not impossible. Im glad i don't have to fish that gongshow anymore.

I went out yesterday to Peg Leg bottom part of it and I am ashamed to say that it I was unsuccessful. Not that many we're being caught. Was there an opening for commercial fishing yesterday?  But you are right it is a gong show out there. Will try Jones this week.

Regarding the weight, I tried a 4 ounce weight and it seemed to bounce quite nicely.

Tight lines.

Yes, I think there was a commercial opening,
I fished the tidal area of the Fraser, just off where
I fish there were 3 gill netters.
Apparently there's still the mass majority
Coming through Johnston Strait.

Thanks for the update, a fine job you are doing as shepherd. Went to Gill Rd today and most people said it was slow, commie deadspot passing through.... maybe.

First Nations were out yesterday from around 11am until ??

my dad and his wife hit Pegleg yesterday evening around 430 and were leaving for home at 530 with their 4 fish. When we were there Saturday it was crazy good. should have been done by 6am but we lost so many it was getting frustrating, done by 1030 though.

Now it'll be boat rides to less crowded spots and to a couple places where I can get them on the fly instead
