What condition are the fish in? Still many chromers to be had? I'm going Aug 16-17.

Info may be too late for you but here goes.

Still plenty of fish in the Campbell (though maybe not as many as 2010),  Most of the fish are still chrome with a hint of color to them.  The absolute bar chrome ones that are fresh from the ocean, come in with the Tides so you may want to look at the charts to time it right.  The fresher ones are of course are more aggressive biters.

Of course the river is busy and lined up but not till about 8 or so.  Fly fishing is a bit tricky because of the lack of backcasting room (assuming you are fishing downstream from the logging bridge).  Pink Flies are the lure that produce the best.  You can also fish them under a float and still get great results.

Good Luck.

It is like fishing in a barrell, with dynamite.  Glad you got yours.

Hard to believe people still find it necessary to snag.  Hopefully you dind't see much of that out there.

Completely pitiful and lacks respect for the resource and our heritage.
