Not sure if there is a thread yet. Wondering how the river looked today. Heading out tomorrow.
-
We have a ton of rain happening now, my guess is the river below the clay slides will we be turbid tomorrow.
-
Rivers blown out
-
River very high! There is fishable water if you look for it. Visability is poor. Hopefully will come into shape for boxing day.
-
Has it improved from yesterday? I'm getting the shakes.

According to Freds, river spiked from the rain but has already dropped down to 2.25m. Clarity at the crossing is hovering around 20".
-
Walked by Tamahi and river was still very high. Clarity less than 2' at best. Drove by the canal and it was murky and high.
-
Fished it today, very fast running water, still quite high, 2ft visibility. Larger presentation really only viable option. 12mm beads, medium gooey bob etc....
-
Thanks guys for updated conditions
-
How is it holding up with last nights and todays rain? Is it cold enough that its not effecting the river much? Thanks.
-
Fairly cool so should be OK but have not checked, rain tapering off now.
-
What Chris said; its cool but the water is holding up nicely. Dad lost a steelhead yesterday and we both didn't hit anything this morning. Might give it a shot again in a few hours.
-
Was nice in the morning but began to hold a silty hue in afternoon. Not much of a bump on the water level so should keep improving.
-
Thanks for the updates. I think I will give it a go in the morning.
-
raining hard now might go out
-
Strong NE winds today, hunker down time.
-
Heavy freezing cold winds and no fish. Not worth fishing in my opinion.
