Title: CP Reels - website
Post by: RalphH on November 26, 2016, 09:04:46 AM
Just came across this website that lists a large number of CP reels by model and maker.

http://www.questoutdoors.net/gear/articles/centerpin-reels/

I am amazed by the sheer number

Website authors are also looking for more input and info.

Why would someone want a pin reel with no handles?!!

Struck me as bizarre but in the UK CPs are also used for trout, grayling and even coarse fish. I remember watching a father and son catch some sort of little fish from the River Itchen using quill floats long rods and CP reels in the middle of Winchester. With short casts on small rivers I guess reel handles aren't all that necessary.

In Europe I used them, with exception of spinning, for every type of fishing. It is common use for CPs.

My friend has a brand new Rushton 425 centerpin.  Anyone knows where the reel was made and who made it?

Thanks
