Survivorman is good but ManVsWild is even better.The dude drank his pee in one episode :oThe stuff he does makes survivorman look tame.

If you were hungry and stranded in the woods and came across a river full of salmon you wouldnt attempt it? I however would try and start a fire and cook it but thats just me. It was sunny out so if you had any kind of glass in your pack you could get a fire started. Also other ways of starting a fire too of course.

The difference with this guy is that when he comes to this river, gouges a salmon through the gills and eats it raw, he does so for television ratings...not because he's hungry. He probably had blueberry pancakes for breakfast that morning. His crew probably included a fisherman of some sort that caught that fish and planted it on the end of his stick for him. =)
