Title: Whonnock Lake, May 30th 2009
Post by: Johnny_5 on June 01, 2009, 11:05:20 AM
Went out to Whonnock this weekend, managed to land 3 nice trout.  There was some sort of Kayak event in the morning which made fishing a little difficult as there were so many boats on the lake.  Once they were done, it was quite nice.

I was out there late this morning, and gave up. It was VERY windy and all i could manage were a dozen or so crappie. I had to be kicking all the time in my tube just to stay still, and even that was hard when the wind gusted.

Can crappies be caught at Whonnock from shore?

The crappies are not all that hard to catch and you should beable to get them from the dock. Great fishery for kids as they are plentyful in that lake.
