Your right.... gotta start using bigger hooks and stronger leader, might actually land a few of my chances.
And maybe a smaller float so my buddy can detect a strike and actually set the hook for once

Ya two tubed at the slab one right in the morning and another around 11.

I talk to quite a few fishermen met at the river. The general consensus is worse fishing than prior years. Any truth to that?  I of course can't complain with 2 hatchs in the last two trips. But is the brood stock program  consistent all these years or are we having a reduction from those good old days when limiting the card was routine?

ya i believe its been alot worse, water conditions are what is affecting it, it hasn't rained in over a month
