sturgeon fishing
« on: November 15, 2004, 07:38:21 AM »

SO did anyone else get out sturgeon fishing over the (long) weekend? We went out on the 11th and 12th for 4-5 hours each day at the mouth of the Stave. Outside of the stink of all those floaters we had a fun couple of days ...No big fish, our bigggest being just shy of 5 ft, lost a couple of bigger ones (always the way right!). We landed 9-10 fish each day and man did they put up a nice fight even for smaller fish, all were fat and sassy ;D

I was out  on the 10th same place and had like 15 or so to the boat, biggest a little over five feet but it was the fattest fish I've ever seen. ;D

My daughter had to have her 6th birthday last week.  I had to have the family over on Nov. 11 (the day) and had to spend Saturday after noon "disco bowling" with a bunch of 5-6 year olds :o  I also have some kind of blood disorder that cropped up and I'm under doctors orders to rest with my feet up, which was great for sunday football.  I milked that one ;D

The fish have not gone anywhere, the water is too cold, the last time I was out the water temperature was 40 degrees.  The fish just don't move around as much now, and do not feed as agressively.  Gets kind of boring hooking fish that don't fight as much, over till spring time,  for good fighting fish and fish that have the energy to come out of the water 3 or 4 times..
Just my experience of the past couple of years
