It was nice to see Raycroft get a much deserved start last night, he played very well and kept the Canucks in it right till the end, would have been nice to see a little more desperation from the Cannucks especially given the fact that Ottawa should have been the more tired team, fact is the Canucks were outplayed in the first and Raycroft kept them whithin one goal, the Canucks took over the game for most of the second and all of the third and were stymied by a very good goaltender !!

Ottawa is not a very fun team to watch as they definately use a five man blueline trap to win their games, sort of reminds me how the Nuckers played under Crawford... too bad concidering the talent they have in that team !!

Oh well time to regroup and take out Boston early Saturday, should be a great game which I will have to PVR and watch later in the day as I will be out hunting Steel first thing Saturday morning :)

cheers Rick

Awesome game last night!
Elliot is a beast, I really hope LeClair stays benched for the rest of the season.
GO SENS GO!!!!!!!!!!!!

PS Why not play the trap when they are winning lots of games doing it? And I have watched almost every game on this winning streak, they are normally scoring 3 or 4 goals a game and never play like they did last night, I agree that was boring as hell to watch (when ost of their games are fast and fun to watch). And a trap team never seems to score any goals at all, and rely on their goalie. Ottawa does score their fair share of goals and does rely on Elliot a bit but not as much as say New Jersey does on Broduer. It's almost like a hybrid trap team lol.

From TSN

Toronto Maple Leafs general manager Brian Burke's youngest son Brendan passed away on Friday. The team released the following statement:

"We are saddened to report that Brendan Burke, the youngest son of Leafs President and General Manager Brian Burke, succumbed to injuries he suffered in an auto accident earlier today in Indiana. The family asks for privacy at this difficult time."

Ottawa was far from the hottest team. Washington is doing way better at 14 in a row now I believe.
LA was also at 9 in a row. But yes a great win for the Laughs.
Ottawa will start another 10 game streak starting this week by taking out Calgary and Washington  ;D

Alright 2nd hottest team is not "far"  ;D...  But I wouldn't count Washington as being "hot" either; they're a bunch of freaks bred solely for the purpose of annihilating other teams, hardly fair  ::) :D

I thought we played a very good game against one of the leagues top teams.

Things look very bright in the near future, like next season. ;D
