I don't see the connection between the integrity and credibility of a professional scientist and the muzzling actions of their political overlords determined to control what the public knows and thinks....... ???

Nor do I. This post seems contradictory. Muzzling should only be a problem if it is assumed that government scientists would speak the truth if given the opportunity. If you can't believe them, then why care if they are muzzled? ???
