Title: chuck reports?
Post by: fishersak on August 02, 2006, 02:33:47 PM
Anyone been out in the local vancouver chuck lately?  Just wondering if a trip is worth the gas?

Save your money, fish the flood tide only on West Van. Pt. Grey is slow, West Van remains your best option--and it's relatively spotty. Or you can do the Howe Sound Hole in the Wall..be there at first light, otherwise, forget it after the first 2 hours, then go to West Van.

Your other choice would be the coal ports off Tsawassen--the north coal ports.

No sockeye showing in the chuck as of yet.

Sounds grim, and it is. Worst Coho fishery in the chuck in years.

That's the report from 2 guys doing Creel Surveys, and 4 charter operators.

Not to say you won't catch fish, but don't be surprised if you come home empty handed.

However, any day it could switch on!

Tight lines, let us know where you fish and how you make out.

Hey. I'm headed out tomorrow night and on the weekend as well. I'm going to burn some gas...see what I come up with. Won't be going too far tomorrow night..but I'll let you know...

According to my fishing logs, there's a couple of locales I need to try based on past years success.

For fishing in the chuck, any day now could turn it on..if the fish are late, which is the optmist in me speaking, then we're in business any day now..however, on the other hand..if they're not...we're toast.
