Fishing Magazines
« on: May 06, 2008, 01:51:02 PM »

Just curious  ::)

I have an addiction to fishing information and I am buying up every fishing mag I see when I'm out and about. I like BC Outdoors and STS the best right now but Fly Fisherman and Canadian Flyfisher have good content I'm finding.

If anyone has others they enjoy let us know  ;D

Hey I read 5 of the above along with Outdoors Canada, but only BC Outdoors registered for my vote.

I've been reading Salmon and Steelhead Journal.  Its an american mag but I like their in-depth comparison reviews on fishing gear.

I know one I don't enjoy that dad keeps getting for me when I visit. It's called Alberta Outdoorsmen (because the women don't go outdoors in Alberta and have the wind ruin their bouffant). Worst articles with so called "fishery officers turned magazine writer" promoting "slashing open and kicking jackfish" into the lake as good humor. That edition drove me to the point of writing the editor (no reply) :-\

The Drake

Less information based, more about quality writing and photography with a bit of humor thrown in.

Thanks for the suggestions. Im going to check em out as soon as I finish the pile I have right now. ;D

I subscribe to BC Oudoors fishing and STS but I might add a few to make it more interesting. I want more info about flies and flyfishing. Now that I ve found out how fun and rewarding  it can be compared to gear , I am hooked no pun intended.

Cheers :)

Cory

I know this is a bit of the mark but since you said you are looking for more fly info try Fly Anglers on Line. They have the largest fly library I have seen.
