Steve Moore has decided that he WILL sue just about everyone that he can get the lawsuit to stick to.
Defendants are:
Todd Bertuzzi
Brad May
Marc Crawford
Brian Burke
and the Vancouver Canucks.
Somehow he missed the water boy :)
Apparently it's some complicated thing filed under Colorado's “Long-Arm Statute”
The venue for the lawsuit is Colorado because of this. Yeah - it couldn't be because US courts go WAYYYY overboard with punitive damages in civil suits? No...I'm sure it's just because Steve wants Todd to be REALLY sure to understand that he hurts, and is unhappy that they can never really be friends.
-
Would you feel the same way had Steve Moore did the same thing to Naslund ?? I suspect that alot of the people who are supporting Todd Bertuzzi is doing so because Bertuzzi is a Canuck.
-
If Naslund were to sue Moore I would think much less of him and i'm sure other people would as well. Todd made a mistake and admitted to it and is serving his penalty for it now. Why can't Moore just accept it and leave the guy alone now? What's done is done.
-
What if Moore never plays again... Then what does he do? Todd is responsible for his action. Just like if you get hurt on the job your employer is responsible.
Besides, bertuzzi is a tool, and should never have hit him like that. (that should throw some gas on the fire) :o
-
This getting rediculous...Bert I can understand Moore being pi$$ed at, and sueing him may seen legit.
Not to be racist, but that seems to be how the US solves most of it's problems, by taking stuff from other people, we have similar events in Canada and people don't immediately sue for it, I got leveled on a ski hill the other day and have been having neck pains since, but I'm not gonna screw someone else by taking half their sallery away.
Going after May is in itself just rediculous, after all he's done for the sport itself in his charity events, I realize that that is besides the point, but what did May even have to do wth the "attack" ? I may be missing somethign here, but all I heard was that May said that Moore has a target on his head. What can you expect ? someone had to say it, taking out a team's star player in a previous game, of course there are going to be consequences, did Moore honestly think he would get off free by nailing Nazzy ?
just venting, this is realy starting to bug me... >:(

Why don't we start a case against all the guys who ran Bobby Orr ending his careerer early.
-
Remember Pat Quinn's famous elbow that laid out Orr ?
-
No I did not. I am sure Bobby wasn't run for the nearset lawyer after.
they use to ply fro the love.
-
Yeah the League dealt with it all right. Didn't Ulf maimed couple of other players ? So much for league justice.
-
Good ol nazzy puts moore in his place http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/article.jsp?content=20050221_090223_4564

Naz said it well

Lets face it, the guy has a case. I can't believe that he isn't suing Tony Granato for putting him in harms way. The game was over. He had no right to be on the ice the way he was being treated. His coach should have seen that something would happen (fight). No one, including Bertuzzi, could forsee the damage to be done. There was no agravation and he was a marginal player. He should not get millions, however, he is owed compensation. This is where the league and players association should step up and settle out of court. Imagine the courts tied up with cases concerning knees and elbows to the head. This one has gone too far.

What a joke, what happens on the ice should say on the ice!
C.F
anything?
-
Does anyone know of incidents before where authorities stepped out onto the ice, or the court, or the playing field to administer their laws? I was just wondering how many times did it happen elsewhere prior to the RCMP becoming involved in the McSorley-Brashear incident and the Ciccarelli-Richardson incident in '88?
