  • A poorly tied fly is better than no fly at all!
Leighton Lake, June 16th - 22nd 2014

Visited Leighton Lake for a week. (June 16-June 22) While fishing was slow for fly fishers those caught were in the 17-22" range. Chronomids and micro leeches wee best. Those trolling were finding pumpkin heads and willow leaf with worm successful. Weather was typical with a change every 15 minutes. The marmots were making their homes under the hoods of many vehicles which created an interesting time for some. Both Leighton and Tunkwa campgrounds were crowded most of the time.

Wow, I've had packrats building nests in my motorhome engine compartment but not marmots ... think of the fun they could have in the Leafmobile  ;D
