Hot day on the chedder..9-27-06
« on: September 27, 2006, 07:42:34 PM »

Spent the morning mid river on a wild goose chase...walked a LoNg ways up and down and the water is super low and no fish at all that I saw...Headed up above Tammy and saw quite a few guys at spots you normally don't but again, only saw one fish roll and nothing happening...

It was freaking hot out there today, and I wore the wrong damn cloths so was cooking, My buddy Indian Ronny and I were a couple wet noodles and decided to head down to the lower and hit a few spots, hopefully with shade...Well this spot didn't have any...I wanted to start here and do some wading on down to a few holes but was blown away when there were 8 people here??? Man, you normally see one or two..but high noon??? It's getting crazy on the chedder...

Tried a lot of things today, they weren't hitting Roe or sacks at all...finally saw this brute and targeted him...Put on a small green and sliver spin and glow and green wool with some scent..about the third time with him ripping by it..He hammered it...It was quite a fight...My first fish on the new Center pin and my first time fishing it...I couldn't have asked for a better first fish..What a tough monkey....I was praying for a female with eggs but oh well, Was my friends daughters birthday today and they wanted a fresh fish for one of the sides , SO..2:40, It worked awesome on him.. ;)..Normally wouldn't keep a guy like this but he was extremly fresh still for being colored as much as he was...Oh well, they were very happy to get him :o

You gotta love this picture...no camera shop on it.....its the DNE behind... ;D

Artsy fartsy shot....

What do you think of fighting a fish on the pin? Lots different from the level wind and a lot more fun, just one on one. Did you burn your palm? ;D

It was freakin cool, the sage 3113 was horizontal and bending to the butt...I was trying to get him in relatively quick as I wasn't planning on keeping him at first, (thinking he'd be a boot)...but he kept ripping out the line...It is SO much better IMHO then the level wind...I'm not as good with it by a long shot but I can feel it coming...now I know why guys collect these things.

Sounds like you had a great day!   It's so much more fun using the C-pin than a level wind, eh?

I just bought a J.W.Young 'Purist' limited edition '94 brand new never been used in a mohogany box. I can't wait to use it. Those are one of the most nicest centerpins you can get. ;D Only 1000 made in total.

Good to hear the bonker was able to subdue that brute!  :o :o :o Look! I can see it laying there in the bottom left corner! I would have thought it wiped clean and put back in it's velvet-lined carrying case...  ;) ;D

Tough fish to break in a centrepin on!!  :D Must have been a hoot to play it and hooking chum is always awesome, they always BURY the float savagely!!

Glad you had a good day out there.

If you bought it on ebay, then I think we had a bidding war on that one, And I got out bid with 3 seconds left! I believe  I bid 401$ and it sold for 403$
