Title: Fenwick 1264 rod

I came across a Fenwick Woodstream 1264 rod amongst some rods I had stored. I think it is a mooching rod but not sure. what would be the difference if center pin? what would be the value of this rod? any thoughts?

My recollection of Fenwick 1264's was they were clubs ... stiff and heavy; the lighter 1262 was more popular.  I'm presently re building two old glass rods as the owner believes they will increase in valu.

The 1264 and its younger brother the 1262 were the quintessential mooching rods in the Campbell River area back in the day. That and the Hardy 1010. Pretty stiff for centerpin, but ya gotta love the soft action of fiberglass.

I just sold a 1262 in need of rebuilding for $120

the classic rod from the 70's and 80's. Paired with a Silex, you were set.
Then in the 80's the company, Fenwick Woodstream then, came up with the 1326 graphite, and then the 1264 matrix (a blend of graphite and fiberglass. the 1326 was a 6 power, 11' long blank for home building, as was the 1264 matrix.
the 126 is length in inches, 4 is the power. 1262 is same length but 2 power.
$150 minimum!!!

I guess mine is a matrix then, chocolate brown blank. nice solid rod.

True enough. It couldn't be any Silex though ... the Superba was the minimum allowed to be really cool.  8)

First steelhead I ever hooked (didn’t land) was on the Fenwick Blackhawk in the Vedder. First steelhead ever hooked and landed was in the Chehalis on my Fenwick Legacy, still fish the Legacy to this day. The Blackhawk still comes out occasionally as well.

I have a couple of 1 piece honey yellow 1264’s that I used for cut plugging back in the day. Those rods haven’t seen the water in 20years I bet.
There were 2 models of blanks offer back then, one was a SP1264 and the other a SH1264. Slightly different action to the rod.
