spate river tactics

well the long range forecast is saying more rain for the next week.given that the rivers are all in spate and that some of us are hoping/desperate for a day off from chores or work, and that could be this weekend.what is the best tactics and on what river are we heading too?

IMHO, the Chehalis is worth a try with its few pools/runs to choose from, if it has stopped raining for a day or two. The upper Chilliwack/Vedder is also fishable (should read latest fishing report or call Fred's, Hubs before you head out). In this kind of coloured water, slow dead drifting baits (roe/shrimp, for their scent) with short-floating presentation along the slower flow at the edges should be a preferred tactics, or fish with highly visible lure such as a big pink worm, or large gooey bob with scented wool. Tight lines.

Fish close to shore using big lures such as pink worms as Funfish has suggested. Upgrade your leaders to 12 lbs and bigger hooks 1/0 or 2/0
