Not only does it have a bar but also seems to have a large hot tub.  Maybe we should all just stay there and book it out.

Can't stand the idea, it's one thing to anchor your boat in the river, but what are they gonna do with the garbage and waste from this floating hotel? I'd sooner see it set a drift then let it stay docked in the middle of the flow.

What northern salt lodges do with most garbage is separate out the recyclables and barge it all back to Vancouver-not cheap! :o

Organic waste can be liquified and contained in grey water tanks.

That's part of what I meant when I said they have a lotta work to do to open this season-details, details, details.

....I'd sooner see it set a drift then let it stay docked in the middle of the flow.

I certainly hope that's a joke-are you threatening to damage private property?

I think it's a great idea. Getting skunked isn't half bad while your chowing down on hot wings and swilling brewski's. The waste can be turned into Sturgeon or crab bait so that isn't a problem at all.

It all looked so good, but was a bit woried about costs. I like the part where it says see us on TV and the story is:

Wall Street Journal - Issue July 31, 2004. Title:"A Credit Card Runs Through It".

Back to the Clydsdale for me. :-\
Unless Rod has free tickets. :)

seems to me like a pretty big investment considering the uncertainty of future sportfisheries in the Fraser River.

Looks like a couple of guiding outfits have jumped the gun a bit.

Thanks for posting it all makes much more sense now- that I wondered where those guides were going to find the expertise to run a floating fishing lodge.

Westcoast has been at it for a dozen years if not more and won't jump in without knowing what they're getting into, I still think that anchoring a barge during freshet is going to be hell.

From what I've heard the resort would be dragged up the river in late summer, once buisness slows at rivers inlet. It would be here for a few months, then dragged back down the river in late fall. I don't know if the cost of the move would be worth it, but hey who knows?
