Whats the difference? which one is better ???
-
If you can spare the extra $20 odd, get the C4. Higher gear ratio, and more bearings. Plus, the blue colour looks cooler 8) :P
I've used both, and prefer the C4.

some guy from bob's fishing tackle told me the c3's were better ??? then i asked about the c4's and he hung up on me......very rude... :-\ thanks spud :)
-
why? whats wrong with it?
-
I think it must be excessive use that's causing the damage (not to say that's a bad thing :-X :P )
I got mine about 3 years ago, and I've put it to my fair share of chums and coho (casting and drifting), but havn't had a problem with that in particular, but I doubt I've been using it as much.
As for the guy hanging up on you Ivan, that's just wierd, not to mention rude. The C4 is the more expensive reel anyway, it woul have been in his best interest... ???
-
I have both and I honestly don't notice a difference. Since I bought my blue C4 when 3-years ago I've gone back and bought C3's. C4 has a bearing instead of a bushing in the non-crank end plate. C4 or 6.3:1 gears are weaker and blow out quicker than the 5.3:1 sets with the bigger fish.

IYHO ?? ;D
Colin, casting ABUs for 30+ years and never a problem!

Agree with Rodney. The quality of Ambassador reels are not the same as they were a few years ago.

Yea, i would love to purchase a shimano calcutta but there are way outta my price range :'(. I'm only getting a new reel cuz my corsairs failing on me, i was wondering how is the casting distance on the abu's? thanks :)
