Today - One of Seventeen!! ;D
wow, never seen coho this late!Or early.
hey fonda if you plan on releasing the fish you should try and keep it in the water. you should also try to keep the fish off of the rocks as it could remove the protective slime. any ways nice fish
Is it just me or did biffchan get a lot better looking :D
(http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c224/truthANDredemption/2010/IMG_6836a.jpg?t=1266813555)nice picture sterling

Hi guys,it is hooked like that because the steelhead attacks the worm not the hook. it is the same thing with intruders.that is how the fish was hooked like that
Questions about the steelhead caught worm by Mr. Jim there. Why is it hooked outside its mouth? I am not insinuating anything, honestly, I would like to know why a fish would be hooked like that. Beauty fish by the way.
Cheers,
Mike

i caught this just above the bailey bridge.does anyone have any input as to what this is.i snapped a quick picture before releasing it because i wasnt sure what it was and i thought i would post it on this site to see.so far one buddy thought it was hatchery coho from cultass lake.
I have caught fish that look just like everyday's picture that are cut-bows.
Did you check the throat on that one?
Though the par marks are still visible which suggest it is a steely that has been in the river for years.
I always like to check the throats on these mysterious fish just in case. Cut bows are everywhere IMO.
here is mine from a week or so agoa 14 to 16 pound native hennice looking fish, looks like you're in the bridge party pit lol.
she had the biggest girth i have seen on a fish that size.

I'll probably get hammered on for this... but I just have a peeve with people way over estimating the size of the fish they catch.every day this fish was a s thick as a football in the largest spot. that is why i said between fourteen and sixteen
That doe is probably around 10 pounds, beauty of a fish but no way it is 16 (also awesome to get one on the fly in your first year, wish I could do that!).
Hopefully this doesn't get taken as a huge insult, more or less somewhat of a learning curve.
This fish was from the Vedder when I was home in Feb... was one of 5 in 3 days.
Estimate on this one was 15-16 pounds for comparison sakes...

(sorry about having to crop background out... I'm sure my friends would kill me if there was a gong show there though)
Great fish "Flyfisher" nice to see what you look like under those dark glasses you had on Sunday.,were did you see me paul ???
everyday is right on the money 10lbsok. but if you saw the girth you would have the weight a bit higher
ok. but if you saw the girth you would have the weight a bit higher
nice fish but its still 10-11lbs.king pin. I just found the measurements and it came to just under 13 pounds.

Any guesses on the weight of it?
hey labmik, good to see the gloves off in those pics. ;) Nice fish! They're not nearly as squirmy after you apply a little wood shampoo...... :P
yeah mr.p that is a sweet shot. you can see the fish's eye in the reflection above it, thats pretty cool.
How many times must this topic be discussed?
squamish area bruiser :)
It's probably a good idea not to use gloves, especially on wild fish, nice buck tho!
Nice. I altered the color balance etc of this photo to make the fish more stand out. I do this to all my underwater photos as I find they tend to lack contrast. See attached file, download it if you like it.
JordsyU, I would use stronger language than that- DO NOT use gloves on fish you plan on releasing! How many times must this topic be discussed?
Yeah I know, forgot to take them off in the heat of the moment. On a side note does your bright vest ever spook the fish?? I always try to blend in or wear drab/dark colours colours.
That picture was taken on a lunch break, while working for DFO. I normally don't wear the bright orange vest, although I doubt those aggressive bulls would spook at anything!!
Jon5hill, finally some more fish love on the cap eh? nice looking fish. I should give it a try, much closer than driving out to the Vedder.
The winners aren't selected by the quality of their photo, but rather it is just a random draw of people who submitted photos for that month.
I see Garry Point produced at last. ;)

Was this during your vedder river scouting?
looks like the fraser..yeah kinda figured that after looking at the picture again..not using my brain tonight...
That's a killer looking needle fish pattern... I've just started to play around with some colours so that gives me some other ideas.
Nice catch btw!
I would LOVE to have that link if you don't mind
Rick
Now I'm off to go fly floss some wild steelhead. BBQ at my house tonight.
That's a sexy looking fly. What's the name of it? Could you PM me the recipe. Thanks
Nice fish Spiznack!
I am hoping for the same this Friday.
Definitely a bit of hiking to escape the crowds is worth it! What were you using?
There is tons of good fishable water on the V if you move around a bit. I think that secretly or sub-consciously some of these guys actually enjoy fishing in a huge crowd! ;)
September's Platypus Fishing Lines draw winner is banny. :)
Sweet, what did I win?

I was drifting dog roe for the most part. I did catch some chums on purple jigs in the afternoon though. Saturday I landed over 10 Springs and 5 Chums. Sunday only like 5 Springs and 1 Chum. It is funny how people go to the river and look for the piece of water closest to their car and start fishing. Those same people can often be seen on these sites complaining about the crowds. Nice fish how do u like that gl rod on that CP im thinking of getting 1 they retail to about $270 at my local shop.
DionMost definitely. However, that fish was caught on one of the eggs you sent with a little bit of wool. When I gutted the fish I noticed that he was filled with eggs in his stomach, many of which had eyes (meaning they'd been fertilized).
That worm looks familiar, is it one of mine?
Greg
is that a rock or half an adipose>?Quite obvious that it is not an adipose fin. Compare it to any of the previous pictures of wild fish. The colour difference from the rock and the fish is easily noticeable. Plus consider that the fish was caught on Boxing day and likely weighed in for the derby. If it was a wild we would have heard about it.
