Looks like I could be in Courtenay most of June for work. Not sure if I'll have enough free time to fish, but still would like some info on fresh and salty opportunities in the area.Would probably need quick/easy shore access for limited time fishing.I could bring a float tube or maybe even my 14' with 35 hp if the situation lets me.......thanx.

Give Courtenay at Nile Creek fly Shop a call as he can give you all the updated info on what and where they are running.

Fish wowo lake for bows.

Hike into forbidden plateau lakes from mt washington if there free of ice. Easy hike great spots to fish. Scenic plus.

Puntledge can be good around this time, as well as the Oyster and Campbell. Just make sure to check the regs on closings for sections of the rivers. Oyster is fly only from the lowest bridge to the mouth til july for example. Good luck, cutty fishing should still be real hot right now.

Thanx for the input...phoned gone fishin' tackle(near my motel it turns out) and got some info, also found some info in one of my fishing books....good chuck fishing right now....good beach casting chances at king coho beach 20 min from my hotel.Maybe some pinks soon around river mouths....just have to cross my fingers for a couple of short work days... ;)

Yes, there's a good drop off not far from shore at king coho, best to go on the low tide. Could hook into a spring or coho out there. Good luck with pinks tho, I grew up in between Campbell River and Courtenay; and the pinks dont normally start showing up on the beaches/river mouth's til end of july - beg of aug.

Also fyi, the Buzz Bomb/Zinger factory is in Comox, worth a stop. 1/2 oz zingers any style are only $2.50 there ;)
