Title: Steelhead Fundraiser
Post by: FishingFitz on August 11, 2012, 11:14:57 PM
So today when I was on the river thinking about the declining and currently endangered steelhead runs, I decided that I wanted to help out and try and make a difference. I would like to see these fish around for the generations to come, I want my children and grandchildren to have the same opportunity to fish for these fish like I did.

Today I saw a man on the river with a pickup truck full of assorted gear for sale. He told me he snorkels down the river and picks up all the flys and lures he can find. This gave me a good idea.

Does anyone have any other fundraising ideas? Or idea's on how I can help the steelhead population? I wanted to focus my donations to the Seymour Salmon Society.

There are quite a few existing fundraisers or groups that are helping steelhead, so the best thing to do is to join these efforts to help them making a bigger difference.
