Go down to London Drugs and ask for either a Pinnacle or Dazzle USB adaptor for an analog device like a VCR or Video Camera.
Use the software to transfer the video over to your computer and I would probably purchase better editing software like Adobe Premier Element or Pinnacle Studio to edit and burn to DVD.

Dazzle 85 or 90 goes for about 90-100. The Pinnacle version is a bit more($130-140) because of the better software that is included.

I got myself one of those DVD player/recorder from Best Buy in the Seattle for $83.  I saved myself a lot of configuring the computer to convert my VHS/camcorder home movies to standard DVD.  My Video tape player is now obsolete, I guess.

You catch fish??  That is not what Searun has been saying!! ;D ;D :D  Mind you, Searuns ego is almost as big as mine right now, as he has outfished me the last 2 times out!!  Just between you and me, I had to sit back a bit, he was starting to get a bit cranky!!  ;D ;D But now, I can open it up on him again next weekend!!  He has hooked 6 landed 5 in his last 3 trips!!  That is good enough for now!!  I'll start fishing again next week, instead of just putting in time!! ;) ;D ;D :P

Stryker does your Camcorder have a Video out plug? does your video card have a Video in plug (yellow RCA jack on both card & camcorder) If it does, then you can run an rca cable out from your cam to your computer, and an audio corder out from the cam to the line in on your computer. And from there you would need a conversion program to convert it from mpeg to dvd.

if you have older computer, Pinnacle or Dazzle will be the best choice. they will provide basic editing software..

if you have newer computer with firewire(ieee1394) port , simply edit with "windows moviie maker" by connecting your camcorder's firewire jack.
you dont need to spend any money in this way.
you can possibly use "adobe premier" for better quality, however, it would cost too much for the software.

after you convert your video into file(.wmd or .avi), burn dvd with "nero burning rom". select " DVD vieo" in the menu. when you purchase blank dvd i strongly recommend "DVD-R". it wil run in any kind of dvd player.

dont forget to keep original tape. burned dvd or cd wouldnt last long. i lost my homemade **rn files in 5 years eventhough i used best quality blank media.
