At Gill a F/N drift fisher in a 12 foot craft was picking his net on shore and sure had some nice sized fish in it, silver bright, he had two tubs nearly full. As I looked closer at them he mumbled some thing like $5 a pound, I guess he though I was interested in buying some.

Hmmm, at $5 a lb, my two socx barely paid for the gas and cost of betties.  ;D  Is that the going price now this year?
I did not see a lot of cars at Scale when driving past it on Saturday and Pipeline was not very crowded when compared to past years.
I guess the high price of gas plus the high price of lead betties are turning lots of people off this year.
Pipleline was slow when we started around noon. Took us hours and hours to get our limit of 2 fish each. I guess fishing downstream of the FN nets should give us better luck next time. Is there a land accessable bar below the FN nets?  ;D
Pipeline (Snaggy Bar) is also as snaggy as ever. At close to $2 per betty and with the length of time to get our limit, it sures takes the $ toll fast. Come to think about it, FN may be asking the right price for what it costs a sport fisher to get his/her two fish.  ;D

Oh, Canoe Man, your extra cost for an innocent human mistake is not factored in yet for our calculation.  ;D Too bad it happened but we are just human.

They should have sentenced you to attend the CVRCC cleanups for 2 years and make you donate the fish to the barby for BC River's Day. ;D

Only a human mistake Ray, like we have all made when fishing. I have caught myself with a barb hook on a couple of times over the years and if a officier came along I would have got a ticket too and the embarrasement would have been worse than the fine.

A chap told me he was checked a few days ago and he had left his license at home and he was not given a chance to bring it in, hence $115 fine too.

Ray, you should have said, "If you're going to fine me, you will have to fine everyone else too because they're all snagging fish."

;) Oops... Bad... Back to reading. ;)

I'm surprise your smooth talking didn't make Susan letting you off this time. ;)

Really, Chris. Have they changed the rule about forgetting to bring the license. I thought DFO is more humane than that.  ;D

Shshshsh... Rodney, not another flossing debate again.  ;D

You could have bought 4 Sockeye for the price of the Salmon tag ...what were you thinking. Thats the lesson I'm learning. Tags already worth nothing. Maybe buy a Sturgeon tag before they close them down next week.

$115.00 for the fine? Sort of coincidental that if you buy both tidal and non-tidal licenses with salmon & steelhead tags, it works out to be the same.   ;D Except for the embarrassment of course.;D  Sorry to hear that you got "tagged", that's why I always get them all at the same time.
