After waiting for the weekend warriors to go back to there weekday jobs, I decided to get out today while it wasn’t raining. After finishing my breakfast I turned on the TV and tuned into the global news only to see it was dumping snow everywhere but here in Chilliwack. After gearing up I decided my first target area to fish today would be an area only 5 minutes from my door. ;D I got to my target spot at around 9:30, which was usually a busy area for fishing, but was void, with only one other person in sight, who was also the only person I would see fishing for the next couple hours. As I walked the river fishing many different runs and slots, I eventually came to a slower side water and let her drift. As my float drifted down I became distracted with some of the walker on the trail and then BAM I felt the head shakes and I knew this was no false hookup. I battled the fish for 5 good minutes with adrenaline pumping; :) I was able to keep her from reaching the fast waters and eventually getting her under control. As I battled the fish I notice people on the dike catching attention and watching the fight. By the end of the fight I brought the fish in close enough that I could rub my hand over its tail to feel there was no adolpse fin, and finished the beautiful doe with a trophy knock. That ended my day of fishing at around 11, and headed on home with my biggest hatchery steel ever. ;D

I got 4 Fish in an hour, which was more fish then I have caught over 3 years... Went to the same spots today and came up with nothing. I guess I just got lucky timing. :)

Big Fisher, I've seen longer story's on this site with less fish spoken of. With a post like that please elaborate. :) I don't think it's
possible to have a day like that and sum it up in one line. Not saying your exaggerating but I like to read more.
Congrats sounds like a shockingly suprising day. 8)

Well, it happens to me sometimes by luck. You just happen to walk into a run with no one around, and a school of steelies (they do travel in school in lower river) just move up from a lower unfishable spot, and there you go, your lucky grand-slam day. ;) It is quite a different story if you hit fish in multiple spots, which takes skill.

Went out wensday and thursday for a couple hours, and tried my hotspot with no luck. Also did a few other runs which had already been covered by other anglers, nothing there either. Went out friday to a totally different spot and caught a nice 10 lb hatch doe and a 12 lb wild. My truck broke down at tamahi, which didnt make for an almost perfect day on the river. Also 3 ambulances were headed to the upper river, not sure why? ??? maybe somebody hear something

Sunday. left the house at around 10 and got to my secret spot later in the day at around 11:30. Iv been fishing this spot of the river all week and it has promised me a fish each time. As I pull up and got my gear out, I see 3 familiar faces drive by, in white, green and red trucks. ;D Well I decided to clean up what ever they left me or what ever their inexsperience had left behind. Fished my favorite slots first and came up with nothing then tried a couple new spots and came up with a nice 10 lb wild and a 13 lb hatch. I guess that was the fish that broke big steels rod. ;D Big steel youll see that fish later. ;)
