Just wondering if anyone knows of any lower mainland hatchery volunteering opportunities coming up?

Seymour River Salmonid Society is always accepting volunteers and there's multiple projects year round. You can sign up online trough their website or email volunteering@seymoursalmon.com
They will send you emails when they need help. There was coho clippings I think not too long ago.
I'm super busy working and fathering 1 and 3 year olds as well as working on weekends when most of the opportunities are, so unfortunately it's put on the back burner for now. Would love to learn more about hatchery works in near future though.

Whats your area?  Maple Ridge has Alouette River Management Society (ARMS) and
they have several things on the slate such as:

RIVERS DAY
When:
Sunday, September 27th 2015; shifts between 9am and 4pm
Where:
Rivers Heritage Center, 24959 Alouette Road, Maple Ridge

And Kanaka creek Hatchery (KEEPS) uses lots of volunteer muscle come salmon season. like moving chum from the fence to the truck to the pens, netting coho in the canyon etc. They likely could use more.

Internet search, contact your local or any hatchery and sign up! Its a great way to give back, meet great people with similar passions and learn more about stewardship and what we can do to help.

If you are south of the Fraser there is Tynehead close to Guildford, the Little Campbell in South Surrey (close to white rock) and the Nicomekl Enhancement Society in Langley. I give the nod to the NES as they are always have projects on the go, and I learned to fish on the Nic, but all are good.
