Bar under the mission bridge
« on: August 03, 2012, 09:41:02 AM »

Does anybody know if the bar under the mission bridge is open yet?  I tried to get out there a few weeks ago but it was closed cuz the river was too high.

As of yesterday the gates were still closed, but lots of people have been walking in to fish on the bar.

Is that a bar for bar-fishing or bottom bouncing?

haha. Just came from there. It was closed to cars and had danger flood signs up but well accessible. You can walk in. Didn't see anyone fishing though.

It's the cutoff for the tidal portion of Fraser. It's usually bar fishing with bait. I don't think the current there is strong enough over there for effective bar fishing with spin and glows.

Thanks for the update Alan.
