Post by: Sam Salmon on January 08, 2006, 08:06:12 PM
Seal are so bad now it's not even funny I had a Coho taken off my line by a Seal in the Squamish river miles from the Ocean FFS!!!
However this press release from The BC Cetacean Sightings Network has some Good News for everyone (except for Pinnipeds of course)

"Transients in Georgia Strait
Several researchers have commented over the past few years about the large number of harbour seals and sea lions in the Strait of Georgia suggesting that it is only a matter of time before transient killer whales figure this out. In December, we received several reports of transient killer whales from Bowen Island (where transients had attacked a sea lion), Sechelt and Nanaimo. It looks like at least one group of transient killer whales have noticed the healthy population of seals and sea lions in the Strait. One more reason to look out the window on your next ferry crossing!
