Going to Duncan Tomorrow any fishing spots?

Me and my buddie are heading down to Duncan tomorrow from vancouver for work and we are newbies and would like to head out after work to throw the line out and catch something after work, make the trip worth while !! ;D
we have no idea about anything in the area its our first time heading there for work. Anyone that can help us in the right direction for some chance of hooking onto a fish or two from shore. Im not asking for your secret locations but just ideas where to go to get a bit deeper water from shore that hold some fish. we only have tomorrow there so dont really have much time to go exploring. any help would be awesome  8)

there is a stocked lake near duncan called dougan lake , near the hwy.i think you can shore fish on it.
