Warmest lake water?
« on: August 06, 2015, 12:57:11 PM »

What's the warmest lake water, in a good fishing lake, that you've experienced?

Was on the Sunshine Coast for the weekend and temps were between 75-77 degrees. Did a lot more swimming than fishing.

I was at White Lake in the Shuswap for a family get together camping trip.  I dropped my thermometer twelve feet down (length of my boat's bow rope) and it was still 22* C.

Lakes stratify by temperature in summer. Water can be 80degrees or more in the top several feet and 60 or less below that.

I was up at Mara lake which connects to the Shuswap last weekend. Didn't fish, but was boating and wake boarding. The temperature of the water near the top was 81.... Sure felt like a bath tub.

Christina lake has got above 90 degrees at the surface a few times. You can still catch fish.....though they are bass.
