been at Oyster River area.  No pinks anywhere.  Beach fishermen giving up.  Little in the water.  Any sightings?

thanks for the information.  We are at Saratoga Beach on holiday.  Frustrating with no fish arriving so far.  I guess they have to come some day.

I have heard an unconfirmed report that there are tons of Pinks being taken near Secret Cove and that is unusual.  So maybe the inside run is going down the east side of the strait.

The Pacific Salmon Commission report for July 31 says
Quote
Pink salmon currently predominate in marine approach area purse seine test fisheries, and unusually large abundances of pink salmon for this time of year have been observed in northern Puget Sound and the southern Strait of Georgia.
Seems like they are mostly coming down the outside.

They also report as follows
Quote
Analyses of recent DNA samples collected from the Area 20 test fishery indicate that 23% of the pink salmon encountered are of Fraser River-origin, 21% are from Puget Sound, and 56% are South Coast stocks.

There was a huge push of fish down the inside in Area 12 on July 25th & 26th as reported by PSC.

Seems to have tapered off a bit.

Appears to be almost a month early from 2013:
