Fishermen Helping Kids With Cancer Herring Sale January 25,2020

Just to let people who are interested.
The herring sale is a go for this saturday 8:00a.m. to 4:00 ish p.m.
12740-Trites road in Richmond(Steveston)
cash only $15.00 per 20 lb. bag
and while it lasts Hake at $2.00 each or 3 for $5.00

This is confirmed.
You can go and see footage of last nites catch on their webpage which shows that they outsmarted
the sealions this time and better weather conditions .
Note: all money goes towards the kids ...not any government controlled agency

I remember when I was a kid and my Dad would go down to New West docks and line up for 2 bags of herring that the CKNW Orphans fund would put on. He would come home and have a fresh fish fry going on in the pan for a couple of days after. The rest he would make pickled herring. Glad to hear they still sell herring for charity.

I got the 20 pound bag a few weeks ago for the Herring for Autism event. It was my first 20 pound bag. It took me 5 hours to clean the fish. I picked 8 jars and vac sealed the rest for pickling in two months. It's a TON of herring. I had no idea. Tasty and fresh too.
